August 26th - September 6th, 2010
Every year at the MN State Fair, MSHS has a special membership offer; this year, fair patrons who renew their MSHS membership or become new members will get $5 off the regular price of membership ($55 instead of $60), plus an exclusive gift for joining. Memberships will be sold at our booth in the Ag./Hort. Building.

Located in the Ag./Hort. Building across from the MSHS membership/retail booth at the fair, the MSHS educational display has lots of information to offer all levels of gardeners. More details to come at a later date.
Along with selling memberships at our booth in the Ag./Hort. Building, we will be selling a wide-variety of t-shirts and gardening books, as well as gloves, garden gifts, hats, small tools, and the ever popular Minnesota Gardening calendar, which we will be selling for $11.99 (regular price $13.99) as a State Fair special.
The Great Minnesota Get-Together is just around the corner, and we need the help of our dedicated volunteers. People who volunteer at the Fair for MSHS receive free admission. MSHS depends on its volunteers to make our presence at the Minnesota State Fair a success. Minnesota State Horticultural Society Cactus, Succulent and Plant Show—August 26 and 27, Agriculture/Horticulture Building. A long standing tradition of MSHS, this show features unique and unusual cacti and succulents along with a large variety of houseplants, hanging baskets, vines, dish gardens and terrariums. This show isn’t to be missed.

Make sure and stop by the Agriculture/Horticulture building to see the Minnesota State Horticultural Society Adopt-A-Garden. This late summer garden peaks during the fair. It is home to a waterfall feeding two streams that end in a central pond, a bubbler fountain in a large boulder, and two pondless falls at the patio level. The gardens also include a raised bed to demonstrate how seniors and people with movement limitations can continue to garden. Our volunteer gardener will be available for questions throughout the fair. Many thanks to the Saint Anthony Park Garden Club for their tireless volunteer contributions to the gardens.
